Commercial Insurance
Your Business Is Unique. Our Solutions Are Too.
There are hundreds of different types of businesses out there and each type of business has different insurance needs. An artisan contractor does not need the same insurance as a technology company, a retail store, or a sports arena. Here at Legacy Partners, we understand that each business needs insurance that is tailored their operations, and we strive to provide unique solutions that fit our clients perfectly.
All businesses need insurance to help protect themselves (and their owners) from unexpected events. An unexpected lawsuit or the loss of all your inventory, for example, can cripple a business. Even if the company has limited liability, the owner may still be left indebted to a bank or other lender with no way to repay a loan if they have no insurance to cover the loss. We have over 100 years of experience analyzing businesses for potential exposures. Our process is designed to identify the specific needs of your business, and find you the right insurance coverages at the right price for your business.
When you choose Legacy Partners Insurance Services, you don’t just gain an insurance agency, you gain over 100 years of perspective that will help guide you through the insurance coverages you need to make sure you are properly protected. We will review all your current operations and coverages to make sure that you are properly protected.
Best of all, we can help review your coverages for free and at no obligation to you. Our experienced agents will ask you questions to review your business and check your current coverages. Whether you’re ultimately insured correctly or missing important pieces, we will stand by your side to make sure you are comfortable with the fact that you are insured correctly. And as your business grows, we will still be there to help you adjust coverages to match your growing needs.
General Liability
General liability policies are a must for almost every business. These policies protect your business from someone else’s claim of bodily injury, property damage or personal injury (e.g., claims for libel or slander).
Commercial Property
Do you own a building that is used for commercial purposes? You need to protect the building with a commercial property policy to help rebuild in the event of loss.
Business Personal Property
Whether you own the building or not, you can insure the contents of the building from harm. This includes everything from inventory to office furniture. You can even insure against the loss of business income!
Commercial Auto
Whether your business owns 100 vehicles or lets their employees use their own automobiles for business purposes, you need a commercial auto policy. If your business transports passengers in your vehicles, you need to be extra careful to make sure your insurance covers you correctly.
Professional Liability
If you provide professional services or advice, you likely need a professional liability policy. These policies protect against errors (things you did wrong) and omissions (things you should have done but failed to do). This is one of the most overlooked coverages that we find missing frequently. Each profession requires a slightly different form of this coverage!
Inland/Ocean Marine
Do you transport items around with you or ship them to other locations? Distributors, manufacturers, and even construction trades need inland marine protection to cover goods or tools in transit. If you ship overseas, you may need an ocean marine or open cargo policy.
Workers' Compensation
Any business with one or more employees is required to carry Workers' Compensation insurance under Michigan law. It is designed to protect your employees if they are injured on the job, and protect you from being sued as a result of those injuries. You can be fined or even put in jail if you don't have the correct coverage.
Commercial Umbrella
As your company grows, you may need even higher levels of coverage than you did when you first started. One of the most cost effective ways to do that is to layer a commercial umbrella policy over your other coverages to give you higher limits.
Cyber Liability
With increased remote work has come an increase in cyber crime. If you have electronic records of any kind, you need cyber liability insurance to insure against theft, ransomware, and more.
Directors & Officers
Directors and officers insurance provides coverage for lawsuits alleging mismanagement and other improprieties of the company. Make sure your management team is protected and properly indemnified.
EPLI
Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) offers protection for alleged misconduct or mistreatment of employees in the hiring process, during employment, and even wrongful termination. Third-Party EPLI also covers misconduct of your employees in the treatment of other individuals.
Bonds
A bond is a way that an insurance company backs up the promise of a third party. If your company fails to live up to its promise, the insurance company steps in to pay damages. We have extensive experience with a large variety of different bonds, including construction and fidelity bonds.
